Job Summary
The Epic Billing Queue Management Technician monitors, prioritizes, and resolves billing work queues in Epic Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) to support accurate, timely revenue cycle processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned Epic Pharmacy Med Charge HB queues, including claim edits, charge review, follow-up, denials, and credits.
- Resolve billing errors and account issues by reviewing patient, guarantor, coverage, charge, and claim information.
- Prioritize accounts based on timely filing deadlines, aging, dollar value, and department guidelines.
- Identify recurring errors and escalate systemic issues to leadership, Epic analysts, IT, or payer representatives.
- Collaborate with coding, registration, clinical, billing, and IT teams to resolve complex accounts.
- Document account activity accurately in Epic and maintain compliance with payer, regulatory, HIPAA, and organizational requirements.
- Recommend workflow, routing, and queue improvements; assist with Epic testing and updates.
- Meet productivity and quality standards and perform other duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsEducation
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or technical degree, or equivalent relevant experience, preferred.
Experience
- 2+ years of medical billing, claims processing, or healthcare revenue cycle experience required.
- 1+ year of hands-on experience working billing work queues in Epic Resolute (HB, PB, or both) required.
- Working knowledge of:
- UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim forms
- CPT and HCPCS coding
- ICD-10
- Revenue codes
- Healthcare claims processing
- Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing requirements required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with clearinghouse platforms such as SSI.
- Experience using payer portals such as Availity, Waystar, or Experian.
- Experience supporting Epic work queue build, routing rules, or workflow redesign initiatives.
- Experience identifying billing trends and performing root-cause analysis.
- Experience working with Epic Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) and/or Professional Billing (PB).
- Healthcare revenue cycle, hospital billing, or pharmacy billing experience.
Preferred Licenses & Certifications
- State Pharmacy Technician license.
- Epic Resolute Hospital Billing certification, proficiency, or credentialed training.
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR).
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or comparable revenue cycle certification.
- Pharmacy Technician Board certification.
- Advanced certification such as CHRI, CRCR, or 340B ACE.
Pay: $35.00 per hour
