The Rigger II performs intermediate-level rigging operations on data center, construction, and other mission‑critical job sites. This role requires strong rigging competency, sound judgment, and the ability to perform lift setup and equipment handling with limited supervision. The Rigger II also supports mentoring and training of apprentice-level riggers.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of construction, industrial, or commercial rigging experience
- Experience supporting equipment movement and structured lift operations under supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on assigned rigging tasks while adhering to established lift plans and safety requirements
Required Certifications & Qualifications (At Hire)
The following certifications and qualifications are required at the time of hire:
- NCCCO Rigger Level II
- NCCCO Signal Person
- OSHA 30
- Ability to qualify for forklift operation upon hire
- Ability to meet Non‑CDL driver qualification standards
Certifications & Qualifications (Post‑Hire Requirements)
The following certifications are required for the role and must be obtained within the specified timeframe after hire, if not already held. Company‑provided training will be offered where noted.
- Forklift Certification
- Must be obtained within 90 days of hire; internal training provided
- Fall Protection Certification
Must be obtained within 90 days of hire; internal training provided
- Non‑CDL Driver Qualification
Must be obtained within 90 days of hire; internal training providedSkills & Competencies
- Proficient understanding of rigging calculations, load angles, and appropriate hardware selection
- Ability to read lift plans and interpret engineered drawings and specifications
- Clear command of industry‑standard hand signals and radio communication
- Strong hazard recognition skills with the ability to identify and escalate unsafe conditions
- Ability to guide, support, and provide technical assistance to Rigger I team members
- Capable of working independently while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and lift procedures
Job Duties
- Perform rigging activities for standard and moderately complex lifts across mission‑critical project sites
- Inspect rigging hardware, slings, and lifting devices to ensure operational safety
- Assist in lift planning and staging activities
- Signal crane or equipment operators during lifts
- Recommend appropriate rigging gear based on load and lift requirements
- Document rigging inspections and maintain safety records
- Identify hazards and stop work when unsafe conditions are present
- Provide training and support to Rigger I personnel
- Coordinate with Rigger III / Lead Rigger on complex or critical lifts
- Support site-wide material handling and equipment positioning
Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
