Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diesel engines and have the ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles. This role requires a hands-on individual with a passion for troubleshooting and fixing complex problems.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations
- Conduct brake inspections and repairs as needed
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems
- Utilize soldering and welding skills to make necessary repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients
- Keep detailed records of all work performed
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques in the diesel industry
- Possess the ability to transmit knowledge and skills to less experienced technicians
-Diagnose complex electrical issues efficiently
- Perform 90 day inspections on trucks/trailers
- Evaluate and repair air conditioning systems
- Replace brakes/bearings/drums/s-cam bushings
- Repair undercarriage suspension parts
- Evaluate air brakes functionality and leak test
- Diagnose Abs brake systems on trucks and trailers
- Experience working with Caterpillar equipment and systems
- Familiarity with tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty vehicles
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a diesel technician or mechanic
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel engine technology
- Experience working with Caterpillar equipment and systems
- Proficiency in soldering and welding
- Familiarity with tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty vehicles
- Ability to maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to transmit knowledge and skills to less experienced technicians
- A valid driver's license
- A commitment to ongoing training and professional development
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay is based on experience. Working weekends during season.
