Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to safely transfer clients, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces
- Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through memory care techniques and engagement activities
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid are preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is encouraged
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia enhances your ability to provide specialized care
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with mobility using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients’ families and healthcare teams
