We are seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to lead our culinary program. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and innovative chef to build a talented kitchen team, develop a distinctive menu, and help define the culinary identity of one of Brooklyn's premier dining destinations.
Position Summary
The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary operations, ensuring excellence in food quality, consistency, creativity, and execution. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive fine dining experience, exceptional operational skills, and a passion for Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all daily kitchen operations while maintaining the highest culinary standards.
- Design and execute seasonal Mediterranean and Spanish-inspired menus that reflect the Naxos brand.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing culinary team.
- Maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and guest experience.
- Oversee purchasing, inventory management, food costing, and vendor relationships.
- Monitor labor and food costs while maximizing operational efficiency.
- Implement and maintain standardized recipes, preparation procedures, and quality controls.
- Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal health, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with ownership and management on menu development, special events, catering opportunities, and promotional initiatives.
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable kitchen culture focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine in an upscale, high-volume restaurant.
- Strong expertise in Mediterranean, Spanish, or Latin-inspired cuisine.
- Proven success in menu development, recipe standardization, and cost management.
- Experience managing kitchen teams of 10 or more employees.
- Strong understanding of food costing, purchasing, inventory control, and labor management.
- Knowledge of current culinary techniques, presentation standards, and industry trends.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment while maintaining exceptional standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with catering, banquet, or private dining operations.
- Familiarity with hospitality management systems and kitchen inventory software.
- Demonstrated success opening new restaurant concepts or leading culinary program development.
