Overview
Join our team as a Janitor/Cleaner and play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of our Class A apartment community of ~200 / units. This position is responsible for ensuring all common areas, amenities, and exterior spaces remain clean, inviting, and well-maintained for our residents and guests. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to providing an exceptional living environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing common areas, including hallways, stairwells, elevators, lobby, fitness center, leasing office, and public restrooms.
- Pick up litter and debris throughout the property to ensure exceptional curb appeal at all times.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the community and replace liners as needed.
- Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other high-touch surfaces.
- Conduct floor care activities, including vacuuming, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain a polished appearance.
- Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring all tools are stored properly after use.
- Follow proper sanitation procedures, including the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment.
- Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or property damage to the maintenance team or management promptly.
- Assist with apartment turns and special cleaning projects as assigned.
Experience
- Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or apartment community experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking the property, bending, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning techniques, floor care, window cleaning, and pressure washing is a plus.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and sanitation procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Ability to interact professionally with residents, guests, vendors, and fellow team members.
