American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 3 years of OR circulating experience and an active MN RN license.

Operating Room setting within an acute care, rural community hospital
-
7 surgical suites averaging 5-25 cases per day
-
Common cases include general surgery, orthopedic/sports medicine (including total joints), plastics and cosmetics, podiatry, cataracts/eye procedures, OB/GYN/women's health (non-cancer related), and endoscopy/colonoscopy

Uses Cerner/Oracle EMR
-
Day shift schedule with 5 8-hour shifts per week, typically 0645-1515
-
Scheduling includes late stay rotations and block scheduling, with flexibility needed to fill gaps in permanent staff scheduling
-
Weeknight call required 1-2x per week, typically M-F totaling approximately 15.5 hours
-
Weekend call required 1-2x per month, consisting of 24-hour shifts from Sat 0645 to Sun 0645 and Sun 0645 to Mon 0645

Holiday call rotation may be required, including the day before and day of, and day of and day after the holiday

Call response time is 30 minutes

May float into OR scrub role, PAA/PACU, or sterile processing to assist as needed

OR techs are available to support the team

One charge nurse covers OR/PAA/PACU

Active MN RN license required
-
BLS certification required for RN circulators
-
ACLS certification is a plus
-
Minimum 3 years of RN OR circulating experience required

Experience circulating in a variety of surgical case types required
-
General surgery and orthopedic experience required, specifically total joints
-
Plastics experience preferred
-
Experience in similarly sized facilities such as Trauma Level 3 or 4, and/or Critical Access Hospitals required

Scrub experience preferred

BSN not required
-
Facility provides scrubs which must be worn only on-site

Candidates should arrive to the facility in presentable attire

Unit-specific orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor and 1-2 call shifts with a preceptor
-
Rural community hospital setting offers a wide variety of surgical cases
-
Must reside within 100 miles of the facility
