A well-established heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee grading and site development projects throughout the Southeast. Lead all field operations while maintaining the highest safety, quality, and production standards.
Manage multiple grading and site development projects throughout the Southeast.
Supervise and mentor foremen, operators, and field personnel.
Coordinate project schedules, manpower, equipment, and material deliveries.
Attend owner, engineer, client, and pre-construction meetings.
Ensure projects remain on schedule and within production goals.
Maintain OSHA and MSHA compliance on all assigned projects.
Conduct routine safety inspections and lead safety meetings.
Oversee erosion control installation, inspections, and compliance.
Coordinate with Project Engineers on layouts, material submittals, and project documentation.
Manage project paperwork including timesheets, fuel logs, load counts, change orders, and billing information.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training field personnel.
Maintain company equipment, vehicles, and project documentation.
Previous experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil, grading, earthwork, or site development.
Strong knowledge of grading operations, road construction, and heavy equipment.
Experience supervising multiple crews and managing several active projects simultaneously.
Working knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations.
Ability to read plans, coordinate schedules, and communicate effectively with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Clean driving record and willingness to travel throughout the Southeast.
Heavy equipment operations including dozers, excavators, motor graders, compactors, and loaders.
Erosion and sediment control compliance.
Production scheduling and equipment management.
Project documentation, reporting, and cost awareness.
