Job Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing quality service visits to customers to inspect, repair and/or adjust Windows and Doors in the field. In addition, the Field Service Tech will diagnose product issues, determine, and perform the correct resolution, and communicate accordingly with customers and internal service team. The Technician will possess in-depth knowledge of materials product lines such as wood and vinyl products.
Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for ensuring all customer service calls are completed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner while maintaining a customer-focused attitude.
- Review the work order and ensure all items and materials listed on the work order are collected.
- Load the truck with items and material needed for the on-site service and repair.
- Fill out a service ticket to order material needed to perform work at the customer site.
- Communicate with customers on approximate time of arrival.
- Verifies that all products to be delivered meet specifications and quality requirements.
- Discuss repairs with the customer to ensure satisfaction with the product and services provided.
- Reports all damage to the manager.
- Returns all required documentation to the company associated with the service.
- Responsible for communicating product quality issues to the attention of supervisor.
- Maintains a safe, clean work environment including the assigned company vehicle.
- Clean and inspect the company vehicle to prepare for the next workday.
- Responsible for maintaining working knowledge of all product lines such as wood & vinyl.
- Demonstrates and understanding of vinyl window installation, repair, and framing assembly.
- Maintains the highest level of courtesy with all customers.
Requirements: (Education and Experience)
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- AA Degree or Technical degree preferred
- Window and Door experience preferred
- Excellent customer service required
- Dependable work history
- Excellent verbal and written language skills required
- Self-motivated and team player
- Maintain safety standards at all times
- Mechanical aptitude required
- Current driver license, must be eligible company vehicle insurance
Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Valid Driver’s License required and must be eligible for vehicle insurance under corporate insurance policy.
Physical Requirements
This position is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or crouch. Constant use of hands and fine finger manipulation is required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level of the job is typically moderate to loud.
Work Environment: Work environment includes company warehouse facilities, company vehicle and customer job sites and/or homes. Temperature fluctuations with seasons.
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
