With NPR, PBS, and other partners we strive to be the standard bearer for high-integrity journalism and programming. Candidates must be comfortable working in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment. The ability to react to, produce and post breaking news across the 24-hour news cycle is a core requirement. The successful candidate must work well both in a team environment and independently, and demonstrate a love of public broadcasting.
The work schedule for this position is currently Monday through Friday, 10:30 am – 7:00 pm.
Hybrid Work Schedule: This position is based in our Portland Maine newsroom, and may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after a training period. Hybrid work schedules require 3 days per week in the office and attendance at on-site meetings.
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years' experience as a multi-media content provider; work experience as a journalist is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands on experience creating web content and strategies required along with organization, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- High proficiency with computers, software, digital systems and audio and video editing platforms required.
- Familiarity with CSS,HTML, and JavaScript preferred.
