** PART TIME **
We’re looking for Direct Support Professional who is enthusiastic about helping youth with behavior, physical and mental disabilities reach their potential. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, responsible behaviors, self-determination and the ability to advocate for the people we support.
As the part time Direct Support Professional, your main role is to assist the residents in the start of their day.
To be successful in this position, candidates should be a natural leader who is organized, easy-going, confident and able to work as a team member.
Most importantly, the Direct Support Professional should be empathetic to the emotional and physical needs of the people we supper while respecting their right to confidentiality, justice and fairness. Individuals who thrive in busy settings and handle stressful situations will be ideal candidates for this position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist residents in getting ready for school or program.
- Assist the people we support by promoting the development of functional skills, stressing independence, inclusion and individualization.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable and appropriate environment while carrying out the duties associated with the basic daily physical care of patients.
- Maintain accurate and timely record keeping
- Ability to educate, and assist in daily living activities and needs
- Cleaning and sanitizing home
- Preparing meals
Requirements:
- Must be able to work 6am-10am at least Mon - Wed.
- High school Diploma or GED required
- 2 years healthcare or childcare experience
- Must pass level 2 background screening
- Complete all required trainings
- Direct Support experience preferred
- Behavior Focus experience preferred
