Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Grading Foreman to lead and work on construction sites. This role is vital in ensuring that earthwork and grading activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and a comprehensive understanding of construction management software and technical drawings. As a key team leader, you will coordinate with project managers, manage your crew, and ensure quality control throughout the grading process to support the successful completion of Residential and commercial projects.
Duties
- Lead and supervise your grading crew, managing daily operations to meet project timelines and quality standards
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute grading plans
- Coordinate construction schedule activities using Primavera P6 or similar project management tools to ensure seamless workflow
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with OSHA safety standards, federal construction safety regulations, and company safety policies
- Review construction drawings and schematics for accuracy; adjust plans as needed in collaboration with engineers and project managers
- Manage construction safety management practices, including toolbox talks, safety audits, and incident reporting
- Oversee quality control measures, ensuring that grading work meets specified tolerances and project requirements
- Documentation, tracking progress, and reporting
Qualifications
- Proven experience running Track Loaders for Residential and commercial construction projects with a focus on earthwork and grading operations
- Strong knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety protocols
- Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans
- Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment; excellent crew management and supervisory skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately using tools such as an Laser with engineering numbers on Site Plans when necessary for Creating Swales on grading projects
- Effective communication skills for managing Crew and Communicating with Superintendents on job sites.
- Construction site experience with heavy machinery operation knowledge preferred; familiarity with Residential Grading is a plus
- Adherence to all safety regulations throughout project execution
