Responsibilities
- Operate sewing machines, including standard sewing machines and serging equipment, to assemble garments or fabric items with precision.
- Measure fabrics and materials accurately using measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and dimensions.
- Cut fabric manually following pattern guidelines while maintaining safety standards in production environments.
- Construct garments by sewing seams, attaching components, and performing basic embroidery or decorative stitching as needed.
- Handle materials carefully, including fabric materials and upholstery fabrics, ensuring minimal waste and proper storage.
- Maintain quality standards throughout the production process by inspecting stitched pieces for consistency and durability.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all stages of sewing and materials handling to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of measuring instruments and how to apply measurements accurately in garment making.
- Understanding of seam construction, garment sewing techniques, and basic garment construction principles.
- Ability to handle various fabric materials safely and efficiently while adhering to safety standards in production.
- Strong attention to detail for dimensional measurements and quality control checks.
