H.E.L.P. (Helping Elders Live Productively) is a nonprofit based in the South Bay, Los Angeles County, California providing free services for older adults and the people who love them! Our programs empower older adults to live with dignity, independence, and purpose and include ENGAGE to help older adults stay socially connected, Community Education empowering families with unbiased information, and Family Caregiver Support to help those caring for a loved one on their caregiving journey. In a world where older people are often overlooked, we help bridge that gap.
Position Overview
H.E.L.P. is hiring a part-time Fundraising Manager to build organizational capacity and strengthen our fundraising infrastructure. This role reports to the Executive Director and leads Resource Development through fundraising events, corporate stewardship, donor engagement, and grant seeking.
The Fundraising Manager will identify new funding sources and build relationships with donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders, with accountability for 1/2 million in annual fundraising revenue.
Duties
Event Management
- Manage and execute fundraising events such as galas, golf tournaments, auctions, and donor engagements (approximately 3 events per year)
- Cultivate and maintain event sponsorships
- Develop event committees and lead the event volunteer base
- Bring new fundraising ideas to the table
- Meet events revenue goals of $250,000
Resource Development
- Develop and execute strategies to secure donations
- Plan donor events
- Cultivate, maintain, and steward relationships with individual and corporate donors
- Leverage personal networks and major-gifts experience to amplify our message
- Develop grants, draft letters of inquiry (LOIs), and maintain a calendar of upcoming grants and contracts
- Keep a schedule of networking opportunities
- Execute fundraising strategies, including email campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, and donor appeals
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in fundraising, nonprofit work, and event planning
- 5+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor development
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising revenue goals
- Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
- Project management and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Public relations, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills to develop effective fundraising plans
- Proficiency with donor management software and office productivity suites
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification
