MainStay Suites Las Vegas is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for our guests.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs general repairs, preventative maintenance, and responds to maintenance requests throughout the hotel. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and public areas.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical issues.
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Repair drywall, paint surfaces, replace fixtures, and perform carpentry tasks as needed.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.
- Maintain hotel grounds and exterior areas as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company standards.
- Assist with room renovations and improvement projects.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience required; hotel maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and solve maintenance issues independently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to emergencies.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout an entire shift.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- On-call availability for emergency maintenance situations may be required.
Preferred Experience
- Hotel maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
- HVAC experience (Preferred)
- Plumbing experience (Preferred)
- Electrical experience (Preferred)
