JOB The hiring rate for this position is $22.28/hour.
Under the general supervision of the Senior Lift Station Mechanic, or designee. Performs a wide range of manual labor and skilled work in the maintenance and repair in the operation, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the City’s water and wastewater transmission systems in the Water/Wastewater Division of the Public Works Department. Responsible for equipment and supplies needed for daily operations and maintenance. Duties are performed with independence. This position requires the employee to be on-call for emergencies. Work is reviewed through observations and obtained results. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS-
Maintains the proper operation of all City lift stations; performs routine preventative maintenance to include temperature inspection, greasing, checking oil levels, cleaning and painting.

Performs electrical and mechanical repair in the wastewater transmission system; checks wells and pumps; removes and repairs pumps, generators, and electrical equipment.

Repairs and replaces panel boxes; performs routine preventative maintenance on the wastewater transmission system; performs repairs in connection with the repair or replacement of lines.

Maintains daily readings record at City stations.

Fixes stoppages in sewer lines.

Performs grounds maintenance as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.
