Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location: Brunswick, NC (Consumer’s Home & Community)
Schedule: Full-Time and Part-Time Available
About the Role
A Caring Heart Case Management is seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to an individual in the Brunswick, NC area. This role focuses on community inclusion, social engagement, and meaningful activities rather than personal care. The DSP will support the individual in building independence, confidence, and meaningful connections within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the individual with community outings, social activities, and daily engagement
- Encourage independence through mentorship and positive reinforcement
- Ensure safety in the home and community environment
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and supportive atmosphere
Qualifications & Skills
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable with strong communication skills
- Ability to engage and motivate individuals in community-based activities
- Dependable and able to maintain a consistent schedule
- Previous DSP, caregiving, or human services experience preferred (training provided)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Valid driver’s license with a minimum of three (3) years of unsupervised driving experience
- Experience or willingness to work with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)
- Must meet all background and employment requirements
Position Details
- Scheduled Hours: Full-Time and Part-Time Available
- Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
- Work Setting: Consumer’s home and community
- Primary Location: Brunswick, NC (Main office located in Wilmington, NC)
