Construction Foreman / Crew Leader
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced field leaders—including General Foremen, Foremen, and Crew Leaders—to manage field crews and oversee the successful execution of construction projects. In this role, you will ensure high-quality workmanship, maintain a safe and organized work environment, and implement efficient daily work plans.
Leadership tiers are generally defined by crew size:

Crew Leaders:Oversee up to 5 employees (including themselves).

Foremen:Manage crews of more than 5 employees.
-
General Foremen:Supervise teams of more than 15 employees.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Field Operations

Planning & Execution:Interpret drawings and schematics to develop daily work plans and conduct morning tailboard/safety meetings.

Crew Supervision:Direct, delegate, and supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.

Administrative Compliance:Complete all required field paperwork, including JSEAs, equipment inspections, daily logs, permits, and site orientations.

Technical Oversight:Assistwith high-level technical tasks, uphold quality control standards, and perform necessary structural or site inspections.

Project Closeout:Facilitatesite demobilization and ensure all final field documentation is completed.
Site Coordination & Logistics

Site Organization:Maintaina clean and orderly job site byestablishingtraffic control plans, staging areas, and waste management systems.

Resource Management:Manage material deliveries, inventory, and job site provisions (such as office trailers and equipment rentals).

Scheduling:Coordinate daily personnel and equipment allocation with the Project Superintendent; make proactive decisionsregardingsite shutdowns due to weather or delays.

On-site Administration:Support the project team with RFIs, drawingredlines, andtracking change orders.
Safety, Compliance & Team Leadership

Policy Enforcement:Act as the primary on-site safety representative by enforcing company and client safety policies and managing incident responses.

Personnel Qualification:Issue necessary work permits and ensure only qualified personnel perform specialized tasks.

Client Relations:Collaborate directly with customer representatives toestablishsite safety protocols and foster positive working relationships.

Employee Development:Mentor and train new crew members while promoting a collaborative, professional, and respectful work environment.

Fleet Support:Monitorthe maintenance of fleet equipment and request service as needed to ensure operational readiness.
Qualifications & Experience

Experience:Minimum of4 yearsof field leadership or advanced trade experience.

Certifications:Professional certification or equivalent deep field experience in a specialized construction discipline (e.g., surveying, welding, carpentry/concrete, access control, fencing, or heavy equipment operation).
Technical Skills:

Safety Compliance:Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and HSE standards.

Blueprint Reading:Proven ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, site plans, and schematics.

Equipment Operation:Proficiencywith the specific machinery, tools, or heavy equipmentrequiredfor your trade discipline.

Leadership & Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to direct crews clearly, present to stakeholders, and collaborate effectively.

Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution:Critical thinking skills to troubleshoot site issues efficiently and resolve crew or client disputes neutrally.

Time & Schedule Management:Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage complex daily crew schedules, and meet strict project deadlines.

Adaptability:Flexibility to function effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure, and dynamic field work environments.

Physical Stamina:Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions and safely navigate active, rugged job sites (walking, climbing, lifting).

Location/Travel:Regional headquarters are based in the Northeast Pennsylvania area (Swoyersville/Wyoming, PA). Projects may be local or require regional travel up to 800 miles depending on current project allocations.

Salary:Competitive and varies based on experience, qualifications, and project wage requirements (including prevailing wage opportunities).
