Project Engineer Intern – Willy Commercial Concrete Contractors
Willy Commercial Concrete Contractors is seeking a motivated Project Engineer Intern to support our commercial concrete operations. This position is ideal for a construction management or engineering student looking to gain hands-on experience in project coordination, field operations, estimating, scheduling, documentation, safety, and quality control.
The Project Engineer Intern will assist Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams with daily project coordination and project documentation. This role will help ensure commercial concrete projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project drawings, specifications, and company standards.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project coordination.
- Review project drawings, plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- Help prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Track material orders, deliveries, and jobsite inventory.
- Help coordinate concrete pours, including scheduling trucks, crews, equipment, and inspections.
- Prepare and update daily reports, field logs, and progress photos.
- Assist with project schedules and help monitor work progress against deadlines.
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, inspectors, and project team members.
- Support quality control by checking work for compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Assist with safety documentation and help promote safe jobsite practices.
- Attend project meetings and take meeting notes when needed.
- Help organize project files, permits, drawings, reports, and closeout documents.
- Visit jobsites to observe field operations and support the project team.
- Track labor, equipment, and production quantities when requested.
- Assist with punch list items and project closeout tasks.
- Learn company procedures, construction processes, and commercial concrete field operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in building a career in commercial concrete construction. Strong communication skills, basic computer skills, organization, and the ability to work both in the office and on active jobsites are preferred.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
