Position: Part-Time Bartender
About Ploughman Cider:
Ploughman proudly makes ciders from apples grown in Adams County, PA. We produce our ciders from a single source: apples harvested from the abundant orchards at Three Springs Fruit Farm. We've been harvesting apples from our orchards at Three Springs Fruit Farm for over 200 years. We're proud to produce a wide range of farm ciders from these apples. Ciders are made and released as the seasonal conditions allow, which means an ever expanding and rotating lineup of styles.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Educate customers on our ciders and the cider-making process.
- Create and maintain a pleasant taproom environment (temperature, music, cleanliness, conduct).
- Be welcoming and engaging to customers.
- Arrive to work punctually and prepared.
- Handle sales of cider and merchandise through a point of sales system.
- Credit card/cash handling.
- Ensure high-levels of service, quality and customer satisfaction. Interact with customers and vendors to develop and maintain a favorable public image.
- Assist with special events and team building opportunities.
- Handle kegs and a tap system.
Personal & Professional Qualifications Include:
- Available to work Friday nights.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the craft cider industry or demonstrate desire to learn about the craft cider industry.
- Exceptional skills in communication, organization, attention to detail, and customer service.
- Positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse set of people.
- Aptitude for and desire to learn the mechanical workings of taproom equipment and procedures in order to address problems quickly and efficiently.
- Must have reliable transportation
Education & Experience:
- Must be 21+ years old.
- High School Degree or GED required.
- Bartending experience required.
- Current RAMP preferred but can be obtained.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including: weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded taproom, and occasional work with the presence of live music and loud noises.
Physical Requirements:
- Bartenders will likely be required to stand for extended periods of time.
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs to move kegs and/or boxes
