Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight across diverse routes with energy and precision! In this vital role, you will operate tractor-trailers and specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks to ensure timely and safe deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks across designated routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery efficiency and adhere to scheduled timelines.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while maintaining safety standards.
- Transport various types of freight including hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and specialty loads like automobile transportation or tanker liquids.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and compliance logs in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or unforeseen issues encountered during trips.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
- Skilled in operating various vehicle types including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated trailers.
- Proficiency in GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments during trips.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely during loading/unloading processes; experience with forklift operation is a plus.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean record; familiarity with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling techniques to ensure efficient delivery operations.
