Position Description - Sous Chef
The Sous Chef plays a critical leadership role in the kitchen, supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of culinary operations. This position requires a blend of technical skill, creativity, and strong character. The selected candidate must demonstrate unwavering integrity, a collaborative spirit, and a willingness to step in wherever needed to ensure exceptional food quality and smooth service while enjoying the opportunity to work with and for great people in an environment that is beautiful and pristine.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu development, recipe testing, and daily food preparation
- Lead kitchen staff during service, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and high culinary standards
- Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness protocols
- Train, mentor, and support kitchen team members to foster a positive, efficient work environment
- Help maintain food products, ordering, and organization of inventory
- Ensure timely execution of dishes during peak service periods
- Step into any station as needed to support the team and maintain service flow
- Uphold kitchen policies, professional conduct, and a culture of respect and accountability
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional kitchen experience, including supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem solving abilities
- Demonstrated integrity in decision making, teamwork, and kitchen operations
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges

Schedule
Work hours are based on year-round club dining operations, private events, and seasonal demand. With limited exceptions, there are very few late-night hours.
You may be called upon from time to time to perform other duties that may not be included in your job description.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
