Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging drum lessons to students across various age groups, focusing on foundational skills and advanced techniques.
- Develop and implement comprehensive curricula that incorporate rhythm exercises, musical performance, and creative improvisation.
- Manage classroom activities effectively, ensuring a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including working with children with special educational needs.
- Incorporate elements of choreography, dance instruction, and theater arts to enrich the musical experience.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to motivate improvement.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, or program coordinators to track student development and plan future lessons.
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching percussion instruments, particularly drums, with a strong background in musical performance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Experience working with children and youth programs, including preschool or elementary age students.
- Skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques to foster respectful learning environments.
- Knowledge of visual & performing arts education, choreography, dance instruction, and theater is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with teaching arts in various settings such as schools or community programs; experience in special education or childhood development is a plus.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate musical instruments, rhythm exercises, and creative arts activities like photography or sewing is advantageous.
