Role Summary:
The Security Agent serves as the first point of contact for patients, customers, visitors, and vendors while helping maintain a safe, secure, and compliant environment. This position is responsible for monitoring security, responding to security-related concerns, reception duties, and supporting retail operations as needed. The Security Agent plays an important role in ensuring a positive customer experience while protecting company assets and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
Security & Monitoring
- Continuously monitor security camera systems and facility activity.
- Identify, document, and promptly escalate security concerns, suspicious activity, or policy violations to management.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
- Follow established security procedures and emergency protocols.
- Report incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Stay up on company provided training.
Reception & Customer Service
- Welcome and assist patients, customers, vendors, and visitors.
- Verify customer identification and eligibility in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Manage customer check-in procedures and maintain an organized reception area.
- Answer general questions and direct customers appropriately.
- Provide professional, courteous service while creating a positive first impression.
Operational Support
- Assist with retail operations and budtending duties as business needs require.
- Support the team during busy periods by helping maintain efficient customer flow.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, frequent use of the hands to check identification, operate security and point-of-sale systems, and handle products or cash as needed. The role may also require occasional bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying items weighing up to 35 pounds. Assistance should be used when moving heavier items.
Employees must be able to work in a retail dispensary environment and comply with all applicable safety, security, and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in law enforcement, military, private security, corrections, loss prevention, security, or a related field.
- Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professionalism in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
- Ability to multitask, maintain confidentiality, and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- PERC Card and/or security training is preferred, but not required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to satisfy all state-required background qualifications.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.50 per hour
