RATE OF PAY: Per Master Agreement Schedule “C” Guideline
JOB GOAL: To successfully lead and direct the Parchment School District Track & Field program as well as demonstrate commitment to student-athletes, school, and community while promoting school spirit and positive character among athletes. The coach must be knowledgeable in most or all areas of track and field, can recruit athletes, hold athletes/assistant coaches accountable, and be a relationship builder.
QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated successful accomplishments as Track & Field Coach in high school

Ability to perform the essential functions of the position
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Successful experience coaching at the high school level (Varsity preferred)

Successful experience as a player at the high school/college level

Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
To direct the planning, preparation, and coaching activities of the entire Track & Field program
-
To plan, schedule and conduct a regular program of practice and competition in accordance with rules of the school, the School Board, and the Michigan High School Athletic Association

Commitment to develop and condition student athletes in and out of season per MHSAA regulations
-
To assist the Director of Athletics in the distribution and collection of appropriate information i.e., Parent Consent Forms, Physical Examination Forms, Birth certificates, Grade Report Forms at the end of each grading period, Accident Forms and any other information concerning the sport

To assume responsibility for maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment pertaining to the sport

To assume responsibility for supervision, safety and welfare of students participating in the program before, during and after scheduled practices and competitive contests

To establish and maintain good rapport with athletes, staff, parents, community groups

To assume responsibility for submitting request for transportation forms to the Athletic Director

To assist the Athletic Dept. in planning and organization of promotion and participant recruitment and recognition programs pertaining to the sport

To recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as needed

To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality

To perform other duties as assigned by the Administration

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will continuously work inside or outside depending on the sporting event. Occasionally the employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with the public and other workers.
