Under supervision of the Rad Tech Residency Program Director and Rad Tech Residency Coordinator(s), the resident will participate in structured learning and be instructed and mentored by senior staff on a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality diagnostic imaging. All duties are performed according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures and demonstrates exceptional service excellence in all interactions as outlined in the YNHH Standards of Professional Behavior. To meet the needs of the department, residents may be assigned at any YNHH locations, regardless of regularly assigned work locations.

Responsibilities:
1. Under faculty supervision, performs diagnostic exams utilizing complex imaging equipment. Efficiently follows routine protocols, demonstrates minimal judgement, and has minimal inactive utilization.
2. Under faculty supervision, performs quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensure patient cooperation, safety, and satisfaction. Demonstrates 100% accuracy on safety screening and continues to promote the pledge for Service Excellence.
3. Under faculty supervision, performs various record keeping, customer service functions to ensure exam changes are properly billed and communicates feedback in order to ensure goals of department are met and operations run efficiently.
4. Participates in various learning opportunities in order to further his/her own personal knowledge and assist in expanding knowledge of others.
5. To enhance patient experience in diagnostic imaging, all staff will be responsible to achieve patient satisfaction scores set by the department on the Tests and Treatment section of our Press Ganey Survey.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Satisfactory completion of an AMA approved radiology technology program. AS required.
EXPERIENCE
Must demonstrate competency performing routine XR exams ARRT certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or board-eligibility) is required. CPR certification preferred. Must pursue board certification in chosen modality and complete within 2 months of program completion.
LICENSURE
Primary ARRT certification required (or board-eligibility) CT XR state licensure required
SPECIAL SKILLS
Average knowledge base of cross sectional anatomy, highly developed organizational skills, and timely and effective communication skills required.
