Glover Construction is currently looking for experienced dozer operators in the Charlottesville/Richmond, VA areas, more specifically in Fluvanna County.
Job Title: GPS Dozer Operator
Reports to: Superintendent and/or Foreman
Classification: Non-exempt
Project Duration: Seven Years(July 2025 - April 2032)
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to perform grading operations for a large scale commercial project. Dozer sizes are D4-D8.
At the completion of this project, there is an opportunity to travel with the company to other projects across the Southeast.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Have an understanding of the importance of site grades and experience using in-cab GPS technology to achieve results and final grade;
- Exercise good judgment and clear communication skills when communication with surrounding equipment operators, truck drivers and laborers;
- Utilize knowledge and expertise of equipment to prevent and interpret any mechanical problems or errors that may occur;
- Track daily progress and accurately report information to job superintendent;
- Safely execute all job responsibilities;
- Follow all job site safety rules and wear proper PPE at all times; and
- Complete other general construction tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- 2-3 years of GPS experience on bulldozers (required)
Project Requirements
- Required to be on-site daily (Some Saturday work, NO Sunday work)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be willing to submit to and pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- OSHA 10 (Construction) Certification within the last 48 months with physical card (preferred) - If applicant does not have certification, certification in the last 48 months, or physical card, Glover Construction will provide training for qualified candidates as part of safety orientation.
Working Conditions
This position requires working outside where conditions may vary depending on the weather and may include extreme hot or cold outside temperatures, saturated grounds, rocky or hilly terrain and moderate precipitation.
