JOB SUMMARY
Logistics – Customer Service is responsible for working as a liaison between the warehouse, customers and truckers to ensure all customer requests are completed timely and accurately. Handle daily inventory management through use of WMS and excel reporting.
Duties & Functions
Essential:
- Provide accurate, consistent numbers on all paperwork.
- Perform customer service duties with correspondence to customers and overseas partners, e- mails fax, etc.
- Provide customers with shipping information, inbound/outbound transaction and inventory status information.
- Ability to work well and contribute in a team setting.
- Set up and maintain customer files and profiles.
- Update inventory data, rate files, and create reports.
- Update statement data and issue Invoices for customers in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years Customer Service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory control and customer service techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) including VLOOKUP
- Knowledge of the freight forwarding industry for both International and Domestic.
- Ability to use basic math skills to calculate freight, storage, duty and other charges.
Physical requirements:
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Light/Medium work - Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, frequently and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
