Overview
This position requires an individual to safely drive a propane delivery vehicle to customer locations. This position also requires someone with a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward Safety, Sales, customer Service and Employee Teamwork. Making deliveries in all types of weather and conditions. Overtime is possible in the heating season.
Responsibilities
- Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations.
· Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
· Operates truck in accordance with established safety procedures.
· Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries.
· Performs responsibilities in on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response.
· Ensures all DOT requirements are always met.
Performs other duties as assigned
- Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Hazmat endorsement and Tanker endorsement.
- Minimum 2-year CDL driving experience- Hazmat experience preferred but not required.
- Pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug test and Homeland Security Background Check.
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to take direction from district manager.
- Employees must be capable of frequently lifting 50 pounds.
- Prior gas delivery experience helpful
- CDL Hazmat, tanker, and air brakes endorsements required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather and driving conditions
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with existing and potential customers
- Flexibility to work outside of basic job description
- Excellent customer service skills
