Position Description & Responsibilities
The Inside Sales Engineer’s primary objective is to provide world-class customer service to clients and colleagues alike. Just as important as the technical and engineering capability required of this role is a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to meet and exceed expectations.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with and supporting outside Account Managers on current and upcoming projects
- Reviewing equipment specifications and project documents provided by the Customer
- Assisting customer in writing equipment specifications
- Sizing and selecting process mechanical equipment to meet customers’ needs and preparing quotes
- Aiding in the troubleshooting process of systems for outside Account Managers and Customers
- Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with OEM manufacturers and essential suppliers
- Building and maintaining close relationships with Customer Contacts at various levels within the organization – but primarily with Site Maintenance Technicians, Project Managers, Process Engineers, and third-party Consulting Engineers
- Designing, engineering, and drafting skidded process systems that will be fabricated and assembled at onsite PGE shop – including 2D and 3D modeling and simulation
- Generate bill of material for PGE fabricated systems and aide in procurement of key parts and equipment
- Liaise with shop personnel on skid and assembly design requirements for fabrication
- May be asked to compile manuals and instructions into consolidated operation manual for customer regarding PGE fabricated systems
- Collaborating with Upper Management and other Office Personnel on continuous improvement initiatives and ways to improve how we do business
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical preferred but Industrial, Chemical, Electrical and Civil also considered) or other technical field from ABET accredited institution
- Required Experience: 2+ years’ experience in engineering, technical sales, or manufacturing environment (this can include cumulative co-op or internship experience)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of application – especially Excel
- Experience/familiarity with AutoCAD/Solid Edge/Solidworks – we will train for proficiency, if needed
- Must understand and be familiar with system P&IDs
- Experience with design of chemical and water process systems
- Familiarity with positive-displacement and centrifugal pump operation
- Good understanding of engineering design process, best practices and industry standards
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to problem solving
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well for long stretches without supervision and, at times, under stressful or high-pressure situations
- Willingness and ability to travel by airplane and auto up to 10% including 1-2 weeks per year for training at OEM factory sites
Physical Demands and Environment
- Work primarily in an office environment with ability to transition into visits to industrial manufacturing facilities where it includes the presence of various chemicals, hot piping, pressurized vessels, steam production and use, industrial water and wastewater treatment, rotating mechanical equipment (pumps, motors, fans, blowers) and other machinery
- Be comfortable wearing proper PPE which includes bump cap or hard hat, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs
- Possess the ability to walk for long stretches, including multiple flights of stairs, climbing ladders, and passing under and over piping and/or equipment
- Safely lift loads of up to 50 lbs

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
