We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Patient Services Representative- Accounts Payable/Credentialing person to support the daily operations of our surgery center. This position is responsible for maintaining accounts payable records, processing payments for supplies and equipment, and ensuring physician credentialing files are accurate, current, and properly maintained.
The ideal candidate will have prior accounts payable or credentialing experience, strong computer and data-entry skills, familiarity with QuickBooks and medical terminology, and excellent communication and organizational abilities. Medical office experience is preferred.
This position works closely with the Business Office Leader, Administrator, physicians, vendors, and other team members. The successful candidate will demonstrate good judgment, work effectively with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality, and provide professional and courteous customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable, maintain records, and follow up on outstanding payments.
Match packing slips with purchase orders to ensure items have been received before payment.
Perform data entry and prepare weekly checks for supply and equipment purchases.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date physician credentialing files.
Prepare credentialing documentation for Clinical and Operating Committee meetings.
Assist the Administrator with Board of Managers meeting packets.
Open and distribute daily mail and assist with a multi-line telephone system.
Maintain the surgery center census and telephone directory.
Cross-train and provide support in admissions and collections.
Track data and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, staff, physicians, vendors, and leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in a related field preferred.
Previous accounts payable or physician credentialing experience required.
Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
Medical office experience preferred.
Experience with QuickBooks and data entry.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar systems.
Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment.
