Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Porter to join our dynamic facilities team. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of all designated areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment to support facility operations.
- Operate floor buffers and other floor care machinery to maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance across all flooring surfaces.
- Conduct routine janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and restroom sanitation to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks including residential painting touch-ups or basic repairs to ensure facilities remain in optimal condition.
- Follow strict safety protocols when handling chemical agents or performing manual handling activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support overall facilities maintenance by reporting issues such as broken fixtures or safety hazards promptly for swift resolution.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial services with a strong understanding of sanitation practices.
- Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and the operation of floor buffers or similar machinery.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward staff and visitors.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques and commercial cleaning standards.
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and ability to follow detailed instructions for chemical use and equipment operation.
