About Us
We are a high-volume private-room karaoke bar in the East Village looking for an experienced Bar Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations. This is a hands-on management position where you'll spend part of the week managing the business and part of the week working behind the bar.
This role consists of 3 bartender shifts and 2 dedicated management shifts per week. On management days, the focus is on operations, staff oversight, inventory, scheduling, training, and improving the business—not bartending.
Responsibilities
Management Duties (2 Days/Week)
- Oversee daily operations and ensure the bar runs efficiently.
- Supervise bartenders, hosts, barbacks, and security staff.
- Walk the floor regularly to maintain service quality and resolve operational issues.
- Train, coach, and develop employees.
- Create staff schedules and manage labor costs.
- Hire, onboard, and evaluate new employees.
- Monitor inventory, place orders, and control liquor costs.
- Review sales, labor, and business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, NYC health regulations, and liquor laws.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve issues quickly.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and communicate with vendors when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and high operating standards throughout the venue.
Bartender / Manager Duties (3 Days/Week)
- Work scheduled bartender shifts while serving as the Manager.
- Lead bartenders, hosts, barbacks, and security throughout the shift.
- Ensure smooth service and assist the team wherever needed.
- Make operational decisions and address issues as they arise.
- Maintain service standards and ensure guests receive an outstanding experience.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Prepare and serve beverages accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching during shifts.
- Ensure opening, shift change, and closing procedures are completed correctly.
- Cash handling, nightly reports, and end-of-night reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of bar or nightlife management experience.
- Previous bartending experience in a high-volume bar is required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate employees and hold the team accountable.
- Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and staff training.
- Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Nights, weekends, and holiday availability required.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Four or Five shifts per week
- 2 - 3 Bartender Shifts
- 2 Dedicated Management Shifts
- Evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday availability required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
