Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation and cooking tasks.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed, including proper food handling techniques.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Participate in catering events as needed, providing support in food preparation and service.
- Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or dietary department is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed.
