We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to develop clinical skills across exam room support, in-hospital patient care, and surgical assistance. What You’ll Do
Client & Exam Room Support
- Prepare for appointments by reviewing patient history and visit purpose
- Obtain accurate patient histories and record vitals (TPR, weight, pain score)
- Assist veterinarians during exams with safe, effective patient restraint
- Perform in-house diagnostics and coordinate lab and imaging submissions
- Educate clients on vaccines, medications, and recommended diagnostics
- Ensure accurate invoicing and provide a smooth, professional checkout experience
Patient Care (In-Hospital)
- Provide attentive care to hospitalized patients, including treatments and monitoring
- Administer medications accurately and maintain detailed medical records
- Manage IV catheters, fluid therapy, and medical equipment
- Observe patient status and communicate changes promptly to the medical team
Surgery & Clinical Support
- Prepare and assist with surgical procedures and daily case flow
- Set up equipment, place IV catheters, and monitor anesthesia
- Maintain knowledge of common procedures and emergency protocols
- Prepare discharge instructions and review care plans with clients

Minimum Requirements:
- Two years’ experience as a veterinarian assistant.
- Must possess proper animal handling and restraint skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties including radiography (x-ray).
- Able to stand, walk, stop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 45 pounds.
- High School diploma
Preferred Requirements:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician by an accredited program.
The candidates for this position may be exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances.
