Job Overview
We are seeking an Final Operations Team Lead to oversee our precision manufacturing finishing operations. This position will lead a team responsible for the final processing of complex aerospace and defense components while ensuring all parts meet customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery requirements.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in assembly, deburring, part cleaning, and interpreting customer blueprints. This role requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and the ability to maintain a high level of quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and support a team of assembly and finishing
- Manage daily workflow, priorities, and production schedules
- Perform and oversee precision finishing operations including:
- Laser engraving of aerospace and defense components
- Deburring and edge finishing
- Tapping and thread checking
- Installing threaded inserts and Helicoils
- Part cleaning and preparation
- Sand blasting
- Polishing and other finishing processes
- Ensure all components are completed according to customer prints, specifications, and quality requirements
- Read and interpret prints, work instructions, and inspection requirements
- Verify workmanship and ensure team compliance with quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to read blueprints and customer specifications
- Experience with deburring, assembly, and polishing
- Experience installing inserts, Helicoils, and precision hardware
- Ability to lead and motivate a production team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with finished machined parts
- Knowledge of GD&T and inspection requirements
- Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement
- Previous team lead or supervisory experience
