OPPORTUNITY:
Gradex, Inc., a leading heavy civil construction company based in Indiana, is seeking a skilled and reliable Pipe Foreman to join our field team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader who can oversee underground utility crews and is passionate about getting the job done right. As Pipe Foreman, you will lead the installation of storm, sanitary, and water systems while ensuring crew safety, productivity, and quality. You’ll be expected to manage materials, set grades, and work closely with our project leadership team to meet critical project deadlines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervise and lead daily operations of underground utility pipe crews.
- Interpret and execute construction plans, blueprints, and grade sheets.
- Shoot and check grades using lasers and levels with high accuracy.
- Coordinate the staking of pipe runs and structure locations as needed.
- Order and coordinate timely delivery of pipe, structures, and materials.
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other crews.
- Enforce safety and quality standards in compliance with Gradex policies and industry regulations.
- Monitor productivity and provide coaching and leadership to crew members.
- Maintain field documentation for labor, equipment, and materials.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- 5+ years of underground utility installation experience, with 2+ years in a foreman or leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in reading blueprints and site plans.
- Skilled in figuring slope and grade, setting up lasers, and operating basic layout equipment.
- Capable of ordering materials and handling basic field logistics.
- Clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and problem-solving ability.
- Able to lead by example with a safety-first mindset.
- Experience working on INDOT or municipal projects is a plus.
