Job Summary:
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of hotel operations. This position is ideal for a results-driven leader with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The AGM ensures the smooth day-to-day functioning of the hotel, fosters a positive work environment, and helps drive revenue and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services
- Ensure all guests receive superior service by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and creating memorable experiences.
- Monitor guest satisfaction through feedback and take actionable steps to improve service.
Team Leadership
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising staff across all departments.
- Motivate and coach team members to achieve their best performance and uphold company standards.
- Act as a leader in fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations, including housekeeping, front desk, maintenance, and food and beverage.
- Assist general manager with budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability by optimizing revenue streams.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, and brand standards.
Strategic Support
- Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and execute business strategies.
- Assist with sales and marketing initiatives, including local outreach and partnerships.
- Analyze operational data and reports to identify trends and implement improvements.
Problem-Solving
- Step in to handle escalated guest complaints and operational challenges.
- Serve as Acting General Manager in the GM’s absence.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 2-5 years of leadership experience in hotel operations; prior AGM or department head experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in hotel management systems and Microsoft.
- Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and interpret financial reports.
