Independent Marine Mechanic (Subcontractor)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced, self-motivated Marine Mechanics to join our network of independent subcontractors. If you have your own tools, transportation, and the ability to complete quality repairs independently, we have a steady flow of service work available.
Work includes servicing recreational boats at marinas, boatyards, storage facilities, and customer locations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair outboard, inboard, sterndrive, and diesel engines.
- Perform routine maintenance including annual services, impellers, tune-ups, and winterization.
- Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, steering, hydraulic, and cooling systems.
- Install and service marine accessories and electronics.
- Complete warranty and customer-paid repairs to manufacturer specifications.
- Communicate professionally with customers and management.
- Submit work orders, photos, and invoices upon completion.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of marine mechanic experience.
- Experience with Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Volvo Penta, and/or MerCruiser preferred.
- Must have your own truck, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- General liability insurance preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
