Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our team as a permanent member in a fast-paced bakery/ coffee shop - applicants must possess at least three full-years of hands-on barista experience and value outstanding customer service in a high-volume shop.
As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your ability to engage with customers, handle cash transactions, and maintain a clean workspace will contribute to the overall success of our shop.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and taking their orders accurately.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently, ensuring accurate cash handling and register operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including workstations, equipment, and dining spaces.
- Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages.
- Operate POS systems effectively, including square POS, to process orders and payments.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and proper food handling practices at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience of at least three full years as a barista is required. References must be available for contact if the job is offered.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Experience with cash handling and sales is advantageous.
- A willingness to learn about coffee preparation techniques and bakery menu offerings is essential.
