Max Studio, Pasadena women's clothing manufacturer, is seeking a Sample Sewer with at least ten years of experience. Sewing dresses and sportswear to work in a fast-paced sample room.
Responsibility: Construction of garment sample prototypes by using sewing machine or other stitching machines and pattern cards.
Duties:
- Sew and trim sample garments
- Hand stitch edges or linings
- Attach decorative trim to garment; attach buttons or other fasteners to articles by machine.
- Iron finished samples
- Inspect finished product and do finishing touches
- Alter or adjust samples as needed based on fit comments or design revisions.
- Collaborates with Pattern Maker, Designer or Supervisor on sample garment construction, corrections, and improvements. To ensure samples meet desired quality and fit standards.
Skills required:
- Understands all aspects of sample making
- Proficient in garment construction and sewing machine operation
- Knowledge of fabric and trim
- Thorough and accurate sewing capabilities
- High attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Know how to work with a variety of fabrics
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
