As a Golf Retail employee, you will support daily operations of the golf pro shop within our Golf Division. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service to golfers, members, and guests while assisting with retail sales, merchandising, and shop organization. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a hospitality-focused retail environment and understands the importance of professionalism and presentation in a golf setting.
Responsibilities:
- Greet golfers, members, and guests in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist customers with merchandise selection, sizing, and product knowledge
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process sales transactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pro shop
- Assist with merchandising displays, inventory restocking, and pricing
- Answer questions regarding golf course policies, tee times, events, and merchandise
- Support tournament days, outings, and special events as needed
- Handle returns, exchanges, and basic customer service issues professionally
- Communicate inventory needs or customer feedback to supervisors
- Represent the company and golf facility positively at all times
- Excellent customer service skills and abilities.
- Basic understanding of retail operations and golf operations.
- Schedule tee times for Members and Guests.
- Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
- Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.
- Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.
- Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
- Accepts payment and makes change.
- Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
- Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift.
- Calculates sales discount to determine price.
- Assist with cart duties – Not limited.
- Serve food and beverage items to Guests.
- Ensuring uncompromising levels of cleanliness as well as protecting the assets of the property.
- Communicate need of supplies to the Head Golf Pro.
- Performing other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work in a customer-facing retail environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions and merchandising
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays
- Reliable attendance and professional appearance
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Previous retail, customer service, or hospitality experience
- Experience working in a golf pro shop, country club, or resort environment
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling
- Interest or background in golf or sporting goods
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills
- Strong organizational and merchandising skills
- Enthusiasm for delivering a high-quality guest experience
- Interest in growth opportunities within golf operations or retail management
