About Elevate
Elevate is a full-service academic learning center dedicated to helping students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and develop a lifelong love of learning through personalized instruction. Our Elementary & Middle School campus serves students in grades PreK - 8th grade, providing individualized tutoring, small-group instruction, homework support, enrichment programs, and academic intervention in multiple subject areas.
Position Overview
We're seeking a tutor who is confident teaching both English Language Arts and Mathematics for students in grades 4–8, including support through Algebra I.
The ideal candidate understands that great tutoring is more than simply teaching content—it means building relationships, inspiring confidence, and helping students discover that they are capable of achieving more than they thought possible.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of upper elementary and middle school English Language Arts and Mathematics
- Ability to teach math concepts through Algebra I
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A positive, energetic personality that naturally connects with students
- Ability to make challenging concepts engaging, understandable, and enjoyable
- Patient, encouraging, and able to motivate students of varying ability levels
- Professional, dependable, and committed to student success
- Team player who enjoys collaborating with fellow educators
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or youth leadership experience is a plus
No formal tutoring experience?
That's okay! At Elevate, we value personality, professionalism, and a genuine passion for helping students just as much as experience. We provide training and ongoing coaching for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in English Language Arts and Mathematics
- Support students in grades 4–8, including Algebra I
- Assist students with homework, classroom assignments, and skill development
- Deliver engaging, individualized lessons based on each student's needs
- Reinforce reading comprehension, grammar, writing, vocabulary, and mathematical reasoning
- Encourage strong study habits, organization, and academic independence
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations with Elevate staff
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel challenged and encouraged
- Maintain professionalism and contribute to a collaborative team culture
