What You’ll Do
JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Technician performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on Hitchiner's production equipment, facilities systems, and manufacturing infrastructure to maintain equipment availability and reliability. This role applies mechanical, electrical, and fluid power skills to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, execute PM programs, and support the reliable operation of all manufacturing production systems.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform preventive maintenance tasks per PM schedules including lubrication, filter replacement, belt and drive inspections, fluid checks, and calibration activities.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures using troubleshooting techniques and test equipment to restore production.

Complete CMMS work orders accurately documenting parts used, labor hours, findings, corrective actions, and equipment condition observations.

4 Support equipment installations, modifications, and project work as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Manager. 10%

Maintain work area, tool organization, and spare parts stock in compliance with 5S standards and maintenance area requirements.

Who You Are
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance preferred.
Experience
Mechanical aptitude or technical training required for Level 1 entry; level advancement based on demonstrated maintenance proficiency.
Certifications Electrical or mechanical certifications beneficial at higher levels.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance safety including LOTO, confined space, electrical safety (NFPA 70E), Fall Protection and hot work procedures.
- Mechanical skills including bearing replacement, belt drives, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Electrical skills including motor controls, wiring, troubleshooting with meters, and basic PLC diagnostics.
- Proficiency with CMMS for work order management and PM documentation.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment technical manuals.
- Skill in precision measurement and mechanical alignment techniques.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Environment: Active manufacturing floor and utility areas across all production departments.
- Physical demands: Physically demanding work including climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs; ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. Vison – 20/20 or correctable.
- PPE: Safety glasses, safety-toed boots, hearing protection, and task-specific PPE including arc flash protection, fall protection, and confined space equipment. (PPE ensemble will vary depending on task and as described in Job Safety Card.)
