Title: Estimator
Location: Roberts, WI
Job Summary: The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for precast concrete construction projects. This role analyzes project plans and specifications, performs quantity takeoffs, develops project proposals, and collaborates with customers, engineers, project managers, and internal teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements, budgets, and company standards. The Estimator plays a key role in supporting profitable project execution through cost analysis, value engineering, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for precast concrete projects.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment to ensure accurate project pricing.
- Prepare project-specific proposals, qualifications, and bid documents.
- Solicit, review, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, customers, and internal stakeholders throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain estimate files, project documentation, and customer communications.
- Update estimates as project scope changes and prepare revised pricing as needed.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
- Recommend methods to improve project profitability while maintaining quality and customer expectations.
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and cost databases.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in commercial concrete estimating or a related heavy industrial manufacturing role.
- Precast and prestressed concrete estimating experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, pricing, and estimating principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Experience using Bluebeam and internet-based estimating applications preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Physical & Mental Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials or equipment.
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, or lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to concentrate, analyze technical information, follow detailed instructions, and communicate effectively.
- May require operation of office equipment and other tools associated with the position.
Work Environment:
- Work is primarily performed in an indoor office environment.
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing or construction environments, including noise and industrial conditions.
- Frequent sitting with occasional standing and walking.
- Standard business hours with additional hours as needed to support project deadlines.
