POSITION: Facilities Technician
LOCATION: Luna Park in Coney Island, 1000 Surf Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11224
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform painting of interior buildings, facades, gates, fencing, rooftops, and exterior finishes
- Use of paint sprayers, sanding, grinding, plaster and compound, finish work
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs in areas including, but not limited to, cleaning HVAC coils, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, asphalt repairs, masonry, landscaping, waste management, and fire/life safety
- Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance to varying types of equipment on the ground and at heights while using a lift
- Maintain cleanliness of facilities, assets, and grounds, support of Park Services cleaning with sweeping or mopping as needed
- Ability to use pressure washers, floor cleaners, and similar equipment without the need for supervision
- Ensure all planned preventative maintenance is completed in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner
- Respond to work order requests according to their assigned priority
- Conduct physical inspections of all facilities, grounds, and assets, identifying, logging, and remediating any repair, maintenance, clean-up, or safety needs
- Report critical maintenance needs to management for timely and accurate resolution
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to prioritize and complete work orders.
- Install light bulbs, lighting fixtures and troubleshoot minor electrical outages
- Escort third party service vendors, consultants, contractors, utility companies, and NYC inspectors as needed
- Maintain accurate inventory of all supplies and take care of tools/assets
- Assist with waste management, supporting other departments as needed
- Assist in start-up and winterization program for varying types of HVAC equipment and plumbing systems with support of your team
- Participate in training programs when offered to you
- Perform other duties expected of the Facilities position and assist in many different needs of the Company as needs can change with the seasons
- Ability to think on your feet and make best choice decisions while the park is busy, taking into account that there may be many external guests near an area being services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Enthusiasm, energy, integrity, and positive attitude
- Ability to work well in a team and also on your own
- High School Degree (Trade School Certification a plus)
- Minimum of two years as a handyman, maintenance/facilities technician, or other experience relative to this position
- Ability to work on rooftops, cleaning gutters and drainage systems
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to read and understand English (Spanish a plus)
- Experience using CMMS Software
- Must be able to lift 30+ lbs. over the day and stand for long periods
- Strong communication skills
- Research building materials, read instruction manuals, and equipment associated with repairs
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards and requirements
- Ability to test and obtain any certifications related to this position
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Due to the nature of the amusement park business, must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
