We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Youth Development Professional to inspire and guide young minds through engaging activities and meaningful mentorship. In this role, you will create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children and youth can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The shift is a split shift with the schedule of Monday - Friday 6:15 or 6:45 - 8:15 AM and 3:30 to 6:00 PM
Duties
- Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, teamwork, creativity, and physical health.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies to ensure a respectful and productive environment.
- Provide first aid and handle minor injuries promptly while maintaining safety protocols at all times.
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as required.
- Facilitate tutoring sessions or educational games that enhance childhood development and early childhood education.
- Coordinate sports coaching, theater productions, or arts & crafts projects to encourage self-expression and confidence.
- Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, or caregivers regarding progress, concerns, or behavioral issues.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare environments.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
- Background in special education or experience supporting children with diverse learning needs is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to engage children through teaching, babysitting, sports coaching, theater arts or similar activities.
- Passion for mentoring youth and supporting their emotional and social growth through Christian counseling or other supportive frameworks.
