Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will oversee complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial standards, and support the organization’s financial health through accurate reporting and analysis. Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and review of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data using Excel formulas, VLOOKUP functions, and data analysis techniques to support decision-making.
- Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting by preparing necessary documentation and schedules.
- Support payroll management activities through systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate employee compensation processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and benefits administration to streamline financial operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software systems including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and SOX compliance procedures.
- Experience with payroll systems like ADP or Paychex and benefits administration processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail in account reconciliation, journal entries, and data entry tasks.
- Ability to perform Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP and functions such as 10 key typing for efficient processing.
