Assistant Production Planner/Manufacturing and Logistics
Job Description: Responsible for communicating the daily production sequencing/schedule as directed by Production Manager. This daily updated schedule is maintained the share-drive with the purchasing department. Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs. This includes doing cycle counts and reporting the actually inventory to what is reported in the computer system. In the purchasing department, candidate must analyze the inventory flow and lead times of raw materials and alert the purchasing team of possible shortages. Candidate must be able to create PO’s as required. Maintain office supply purchasing. Candidate must be a self-starter, can think on their feet in a fast-paced environment. In addition to these duties, candidate helps with the daily in-house short run printing in the graphics department. Monitor office supply stock and place PO’s in this category. Must be willing to answer phones as needed and help with filing.
GP Inventory Module Duties:
- Manage GP Price Sheets as needed using Myridas Suites. Net Base plus 32 GP price sheets (Bulk, Premeasured Column pricing and the Customer special pricing as specified by sales team, updating existing as necessary and or creating new price sheets as needed.
- Manage Annual Sales Promotions Example: " Buy 10 cases, get one case free" requires inventory adjustments and other systems monitoring.
EDI Interface:
- Facilitate New EDI Trading Partnership set up in True Commerce including test and launch.
- Transaction Monitoring: Check to see if there are any issues inbound or outbound, determine cause. Attempt to correct internally or contact True Commerce Support Team for assistance.
Customer Service Liaison:
- Must be able to communicate to customer service real-time inventory, production and shipping schedules.
- Gather GP order data per requested categories and provide it to the customer service team (example: weekly Liquid & Powder Disinfectant item report)
- Create various reports sales and financial as requested: Annual sales reports, quarterly customer sample shipped value report, commission reports, sales reports, etc.
Production/Shipping Duties:
- Responsible for printing out and organizing customer- required labels to assist the south plant warehouse/shipping before an order is picked for Tractor Supply, True Value, (Mills) Fleet Wholesale and Clack.
- Receive subcontractor raw (loads) production when delivered into inventory via computer system. Virtually convert the raw materials in the computer system into virtual finished goods inventory using an inventory bar code scanner.
- Take work orders from the computer system and release the work order to the production floor.
- Quality Control of product being ran on production lines to ensure quality and correctness of product and components being used.
Competency: Includes having strong communication and math skills (reading, writing and do basic math which includes multiplication, division and counting). Must have computer competency in Microsoft word, excel, e-mail. Will train in Microsoft Dynamic Great Plains (GP) and inventory control (RSS-will train) software. Candidate must be able to lift up to 20lbs and be able to use a bar code scanner. Must be willing to be trained in the responsibilities of the Production Manager and be willing to step into those duties if needed throughout the year when manager is on vacation.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree : business, logistics preferred.
