We are currently seeking an Assistant Sales/Assistant General Manager for Fairview Millwork and Kitchen Design Center that will help direct the efficient operation of our successful and growing South Yarmouth, MA branch Fairview is a very successful 73 year young family owned and operated 3rd Generation company. In this position you will be responsible to assist the Sales Manager/General Manager for complete operation of sales, store and warehouse operations providing high level of service to our contractors and customers while continuing to grow the profitability of the business. Includes but not limited to store administrative duties, inventory control, proper staffing, and fleet maintenance. Assist the store Sales and General manager with meeting the stores sales and GP goals. Industry Experience required.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure efficient and profitable operations.
- Planning and implementing strategies for location growth by analyzing sales figures and forecasting future volume to maximize profits.
- Implementing and following effective and efficient procedures for daily operations consistent with company guidelines and initiating change to improve business and operational conditions.
- Working closely with other company management personnel to recognize and correct operational problems for uniformity.
- Monitoring and ensuring proper compliance of Cash Drawer and verifying all bank deposits.
- Determining facility and equipment needs and working with appropriate company staff to fill these needs and ensure that proper maintenance is performed.
- Working on needs inventory so that inventory is adequate to meet customer needs; suggesting inventory changes as appropriate and ensuring accurate inventory control and record keeping.
- Ensuring proper Safety guidelines are being adhered to and identifying safety sensitive property issues to be fixed.
- Organizing and maintaining the warehouse and store layout for maximum efficiency and safe operations.
- Ensure integrity of interior and exteriors of buildings are maintained properly and aesthetics of building properly represent our business at all times.
- Organize special promotions, displays and contractor events
Guarantee prompt, efficient customer service and profitable growth by:
- Works to ensure efficient operations of the counter staff so that all customers are treated fairly, professionally and timely.
- Develops and maintains relationships with major store customers to ensure their continued satisfaction.
- Monitors all customer needs so that inventory is sufficient to meet those needs.
- Work closely with sales representatives to develop sales skills and increase add on sales.
- Assists the outside sales representatives in the development of new key accounts.
- Train inside and outside sales staff to provide world-class answers to customer questions and concerns.
- Investigates and finds acceptable solutions to customer problems and ensures follow through.
- Ensure efficient and legal personnel operations by maintaining adequate staffing to meet Company and customer needs in the most efficient and economical manner.
- Recruit, Hire, Train and follow company hiring procedures to fill positions.
- Maintaining accurate and complete personnel records and supervising the correct reporting of time and work records to the payroll department.
- Monitoring employee performance, coach, discipline and complete personnel evaluations as required and making appropriate salary-action recommendations.
- Handling disciplinary actions as needed and following all Company policies and procedures in providing adequate documentation of all such actions.
- Ensuring proper training for all staff in store operations, customer service, and safety.
- Schedule personnel for optimum customer service.
- Conduct regular store meetings.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Millwork Experience is a must
- BS in Management, Business preferred but not required
- Two years of Industry management related experience in Building materials, Millwork and kitchen design
- Two years’ prior outside sales or Inside Sales experience (preferably in the building material distribution industry).
- Spruce operating system. Ability to learn software packages.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Internet, Word, and Excel.
- Products: Residential millwork, windows, doors. High level of special order business and ability to read blueprints for accurate ordering

- Must be legally entitled to work in the United States.
- Must be able to read, speak and write the English language to communicate with vendors, customers and other branch employees.
